Aretha Franklin Cancels Performance

Aretha Franklin was scheduled to perform as a part of this year’s New Orleans Jazz Festival.  About 24 hours before she was set to take the stage, she let festival organizers know that she would be unable to perform.

Franklin has not released any further information and it remains unclear as to the reason why.

Luckily, festival organizers were able to fill her spot.  Earth Wind & Fire were scheduled to perform near by and have offered to step in.  The group performed at last year’s festival receiving great response from festivalgoers.

Aretha’s next scheduled performance is to benefit the Bergen PAC Spring Gala on May 22.  Bergen PAC, located in Northern New Jersey, is a non-profit organization that works towards making performing arts education available to the entire community.
