Aretha Franklin cancels all upcoming tour dates

Aretha Franklin has unexpectedly been forced to cancel all her tour dates scheduled through May 2011 due to health reasons.

Franklin’s publicist Tracey Jordan told the AP that Franklin’s doctors have forced her to cancel the dates and that she is “resting comfortably at home, but is anxious to get back on the road to perform for her countless fans around the world.”

The cancelled shows include Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn.; Dec. 9 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit; and Feb. 11-12 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York.

This isn’t the first time that Franklin has cancelled shows this year. In August, she cancelled two New York concerts after breaking some of her ribs in a fall.
